Sustainable viticulture and wine-growing traditions

We are committed to cultivating grape varieties that correspond perfectly to the nature of our terroir and to work the vines in a manner consistent with sustainable viticulture. We take our inspiration from local wine-growing traditions to create wines that are authentic and express the essence of our terroir.

We adhere to the very strict terms and conditions of Terra Vitis, by employing production techniques that respect the environment.

  • Planting grass between the rows is employed for soil conservation.
  • Vines are nourished by the restitution of the vine shoots, the addition of organic vegetable matter and lime.
  • The land under cultivation is protected by employing preventative health techniques, such as ébourgeonnage (the removal of unwanted new vine shoots) and effeuillage (the removal of old leaves).
  • The leaf surface area is increased, for an optimal maturity of the grapes.

In parallel to these procedures, we rest attached to our vine-growing traditions.

  • Our high planting densities permit lower yields per vine.
  • Work amongst the vines preserves the sanitary state of the grapes and allows us to wait for an optimal maturity before harvest.
  • We pick all of our grapes by hand, which allows us to make a careful section and keep the grape bunches intact.
